Today is our 5th Wedding Anniversary! Exactly five years ago today, on a frigid winter day, I walked down the aisle in a small country church in Texas to get the official title of “wife” to my best friend and husband. I didn’t even have to load him up with alcohol or prescription medications to get him to marry me! The cast-iron frying pan I was holding over his head may have had something to do with it. 😉
As some of you may know, I met my hubby online at Matchmaker.com in August 2001, just weeks before the infamous terrorist attacks our nation suffered. I had been divorced for ten long years, focusing my time and attention on raising my children alone, before finally meeting the love of my life. I remember thinking how funny it was that on my online profile I had mentioned my wish to meet someone Tall, since my husband is thirteen inches taller than I am! Wow! You can bet I pulled out my high heels when we went out on dates! 🙂
I’m proof that you really can find true love online, despite having met some real nut cases along the way. Since meeting my husband and best friend, I’ve been blessed with so much joy just being in his presence. I snagged me a Keeper out of the fish pond! Bring on the wedding toasts…er…I mean anniversary toasts! 🙂
Coming up with gifts for anniversaries wasn’t much of a challenge for me, especially since my hubby and I are both very romantic souls. Even though we’ve only been married for five years so far, we do look forward to one day celebrating our 25th anniversary of marital bliss.
Happy Anniversary Baby! I Love You!
