You have to be the winner of the 2008 Christmas Advertising information blitz… I remember when it seemed rude for window shoppers to see Christmas scenes before Thanksgiving but now the first week of September is the ticket. I agree with you that with so much political banter going on right now, thinking about Christmas and the upcoming holidays is definitely a nice diversion from the political negativity.

Thanks a lot for the earliest of all lists I’ve seen regarding newest Christmas toys updates. Our money is hard to get and knowing the popular toys and the PRICE helps us prepare financially. Finding out the last minute leaves many children disappointed on Christmas morning as these popular toys become scarce or are more expensive than anticipated . To a struggling single mom or any other parent -last minute major dollars for a child’s gift or a unexpected search for the gift becomes unwelcome. The earlier the better. Thanks and keep it up.

Hi Cyn, I’m glad this list of the hottest Christmas toys for 2008 has been helpful to you. Having been a single mom myself several years ago, I can relate to the need of planning well ahead of Christmas and starting my xmas shopping very early to help spread out the costs. I’ve found that I get the best prices on Christmas toys and xmas gifts when I’ve started shopping early. Waiting until the last minute or when prices are marked up or toys and gifts are sold out makes for a disappointing Christmas morning.

I didn’t see too much on the list that my children even want, except the wii fit. But that is just as well. I do not like comment number 10 at all. My children have been taught and will continue to be taught to be thankful for whatever they get and not to get disappointed when they don’t get the same toy Tommy down the street got, etc…
I think this mentality is where the retailers have gotten a lot of parents and has contributed to our economic problems. We are too spoiled and we are so scared to “disappoint” our children that we put ourselves in debt to make sure that doesn’t happen. Disappointment is going to happen in life to everyone, so the lesson is if they don’t get that toy for christmas- so what they will probably not play with it in 6 months anyway and they’ll focus on the next hottest toy that commercials show over and over again. So how about more parents not rush to get that toy this year- save themselves grief and teach their children a valuable lesson- you can’t always get what you want the most, especially when it comes to material things. Lastly lets not forget that Christmas is supposed to be a religious holiday for people who believe in Christ, so honestly if you celebrate it you should be a believer and should have your focus where it belongs- on the birth of christ and not material things!
