Remembering September 11, 2008 – In Memory of 9/11

September 11, 2008 marks the seven-year anniversary of 9/11, with memorial events and tributes taking place in New York City and other areas to honor and remember the victims of September 11, 2001, in remembrance of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that killed thousands of innocent men, women and children.

Whether or not you are able to attend commemoration activities at Ground Zero or in your local communities, take a few moments and say a prayer for the victims of 9/11 and the families left behind without the people they love. I still remember where I was and what I was doing at the time the attacks occurred and I’m sure you do too, and we will never forget what happened on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 for as long as we live.

  1. I was sick and home from work that day. I watched in horror all day on CNN.

Hi Michael, I’ll never forget that day. I was at work at the Dentist’s office and we were working on a patient when the news came over the radio about a plane hitting the World Trade Center.

We stopped working and listened to the story and suddenly the second plane hit the other tower and we all looked at each other in horror and just knew something terrible was happening in New York.

I tried to get online to learn more or get the latest news etc, but the internet was overloaded and we couldn’t get online. All of us in the office, including the patients, had an extremely difficult time concentrating and we decided we just couldn’t continue working on anyone else since our minds and hearts were in New York.

  3. I still can’t believe it happened. It’s awful to think about however, we mustn’t forget.

My grandson is a marine and in Iraq for the second time in three years. I pray for his safety and everyone there.

    thanks for the post..

WoW, the time passing by like a shooting star, and it’s already 7 years after the horrible 911 tragedy…

I was prayed for a minute for those people that have been sacrified in the 911…I hoped they will be rest in peace.

@Dorothy, It’s hard to believe that 7 years has already passed since 9/11 happened and it still breaks my heart to see the videos and photos of the terrorist attacks on our country. We must never forget, nor take for granted the freedoms we have in our country. Anytime I see a firefighter, police officer, military people of any kind, I remember that day and I have a profound respect for all they do for us.

Wilson, I can’t help but think about all the children and families effected by this tragedy, with so much loss of life. There are so many heroes like the people on the plane that went down in Pennsylvania who did everything they could to keep the terrorists from fulfilling their goals. That infamous phrase “Let’s roll” is forever etched into my memory.
