Google Warning Visiting This Website May Harm Your Computer

pulling-hair-outIf you’ve been seeing the Google warning message “Visiting this site may harm your computer”, you are not alone. Google officials have apologized for a glitch that blocked people from using the search engine for a short time on Saturday and warned that websites they wished to visit might harm their computers. Well, doesn’t that just beat all?!

A company official at Google said “each and every search result” from between 9:30 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. ET “likely resulted’ in the message, “This site may harm your computer.” I noticed the problem while creating the “Why Him Why Her” article, as I looked through my archived posts for my article discussing the difference between men and women, only to find the message “visiting this site may harm your computer”!

Vice-president of search products and user experience, Marissa Mayer, writing in a Google blog, blamed the problem on human error. Mayer said Google flags search results with the warning if the site is known to install malicious software “in the background or otherwise surreptitiously.”

The message “visiting this site may harm your computer” popped up even for well-known, trusted sites because of an error in a list of web addresses compiled by a non-profit group that works with Google to protect users against visiting sites that could harm their computers. “This was clearly an error, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to our users,” Mayer said.

The warning also told internet users to click on a link to get more information on malware, a term for malicious software such as computer viruses and spy ware. In essence, Google caused a worldwide internet blacklist, making every website including Telling It Like It Is to appear to be harmful and dangerous.

Well, thanks a lot Google! You about gave me a heart attack wondering if this site had been hacked or something. Whoever caused the “human error” should get a serious tongue lashing at the very least, and he/she should be very happy that I’m not the boss at Google because they’d be without a job right now.

Why Him Why Her Helen Fisher Personality Test -Understanding Your Personality Type

Why Him? Why Her?Why Him? Why Her? – Finding Real Love by Understanding Your Personality Type” by Helen Fisher has been the topic of conversation around the net since the release of Helen Fisher’s book on January 20, 2008. Appearing on ABC’s 20/20, biological anthropologist Helen Fisher (who has been studying love for 30 years) studied 28,128 people to analyze why men and women are attracted to each other based on four personality types, then put the test results in her new book Why Him Why Her (Henry Holt).

After researching why people fall in love with one person rather than another, Fisher and her colleagues Arthur Aron and Lucy Brown, came to believe men and women are a combination of four personality types associated with four specific neurotransmitters and hormones: The Explorer (dopamine), The Builder (serotonin), The Director (testosterone) and The Negotiator (estrogen).

Helen Fisher conducted her love lab research at Chemistry.com, an affiliate of Match.com, which is largest online dating service on the web. Included in Fisher’s book is the Helen Fisher personality test questionnaire and results (taken by over 7 million people worldwide so far) to help readers determine their own personality type and how your personality type influences who you fall in love with.

In a Helen Fisher interview, The Explorer (dopamine) is described as adventurous, novelty-seeking, creative. The Builder (serotonin) is cautious, conventional, managerial. The Director (testosterone) is aggressive, single-minded, analytical. The Negotiator (estrogen) is empathetic, idealistic, a big-picture thinker. Which personality type are you? Does your personality type guide who you love, or not? Do opposites attract or there something else going on?

Who Loves Whom and Why?

According to the personality test results of Helen Fisher’s mate study, some people are attracted to their opposites and some are attracted to their matches. “We know that you tend to fall in love with somebody from your same socioeconomic background, same general level of intelligence, same general level of good looks, same religious values,” Fisher said. “We tend to fall in love with somebody who can give us what we need in exchange for giving them what they need. Timing is important, proximity is important.”

Explorer/Explorer
Explorers are attracted to other Explorers because they crave excitement; they want optimism, impulsivity and curiosity in their partner. The Explorer/Explorer match is generally strong because Explorers love adventure and want a partner to share their spontaneity. But this match can have problems. Since both are willing to tolerate risks, two Explorers can find themselves in disastrous situations. And Explorers are not usually very introspective so the pair often avoids difficult discussions.

Builder/Builder
Like Explorers, Builders are attracted to each other. They are most likely to marry each other, to say they are happy in their marriage and less likely to divorce than other combinations. Builders like bringing people and community together and enjoy working together. They are successful at building large circles of close friends, making sensible decisions about money, family and feelings together and value security above almost everything.

Director/Negotiator
Unlike Builders and Explorers who are often attracted to people of their own type, Directors and Negotiators are often drawn to each other. They compliment each other as Negotiators see the big picture while Directors focus on smaller pieces of the puzzle. Negotiators are skilled at seeing all angles without taking action and Directors are decisive yet don’t often analyze ancillary data. The two types are also compatible socially. Negotiators are good at smoothing over Directors’ inappropriate comments and Directors admire the diplomatic nature of Negotiators.

Difference Between Men and Women

3 Months for the Price of 1
When discussing the difference between men and women, Fisher says there are two more chemicals that should be mentioned, besides dopamine, serotonin, testosterone and estrogen. “Norepinephrine, a chemical closely related to dopamine, undoubtedly contributes to some of the Explorer’s traits, especially their energy and impulsivity. And oxytocin—a chemical synthesized, stored and triggered (in large part) by estrogen—most likely plays a role in the Negotiator’s compassion, nurturing, trust and intuition”, says Fisher.

Dr. Fisher says, “In fact, families of chemicals produce the Explorer, Builder, Director and Negotiator. The specific activities of any one chemical are not as significant as the ratios and interactions among all of them and several other neural systems. Nevertheless, only dopamine, serotonin, testosterone and estrogen have been directly associated with a wide range of personality traits. So variations in these four chemicals most likely form the foundation of these four basic styles of thinking and behaving. But does your personality type guide who you love? I decided to find out”.

Dr. Helen Fisher’s personality test results appear to prove that people do not necessarily fall in love with people of the same personality types, despite the common wisdom that we should find dates that share our interests. Instead, individuals fall head over heels for those who complement their personality type and who reflect their type.

Why Him Why Her shows how we seek a person with whom we have a natural chemistry connection, grounded on the chemical systems that manifest themselves in the four personality types. Take the personality test to find out which of the Helen Fisher personality types describe you. Are you The Explorer? The Builder? The Director or The Negotiator? Do you agree with the results from your quiz?

Mystery Shopping – How to Become a Mystery Shopper

Mystery shopping job opportunities are plentiful for those wanting to become a mystery shopper. What is a mystery shopper? Mystery shopping, or secret shopping, is where “undercover customers” get paid to shop and make money evaluating customer service, cleanliness, quality, product availability and other company details, according to your own schedule. A paid shopper?!

Yes, you can make money at home by being a mystery shopper, secret shopper or shadow shopper, doing performance evaluations, service checks, front-line evaluations or any of the other common terms for mystery shopping jobs.

A few years ago, I had become a Mystery Shopper and got paid to shop by a variety of mystery shopping companies, also referred to as “mystery shopping providers” and I enjoyed it immensely. Shhh, don’t tell anyone because the whole idea behind being a mystery shopper is keeping it a secret! The only person that knew anything about my being a mystery shopper is my husband, and no one else had a clue.

If you are thinking of becoming a mystery shopper, it’s important that you keep that information between you, your spouse or significant other, and most definitely don’t tell your children. I’ve read many mystery shopper stories where friends, children and other relatives ruined many mystery “shops” by saying “Are you a mystery shopper here today?” Being a good secret shopper means keeping it a secret from everyone and anyone who might unwittingly blurt it out in public, destroying your “undercover” shopper status.

Mystery shopping is not hard by any means, with both men and women of all ages discovering how to become a mystery shopper and make money from home (usually part-time) as a secret shopper, shopping at retail stores, restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations, financial institutions/banks, service providers, manufacturers, hotels/motels, as well as travel and entertainment companies just to name a few.

How to Become a Mystery Shopper

There is no limit to legitimate mystery shopping jobs in the U.S. or other countries, including the U.K. A word to the wise, from a former mystery shopper to current secret shoppers or those wanting to become a mystery shopper: Watch out for mystery shopping scams, as there are some dishonest companies claiming you have to pay them a registration fee in order to get mystery shopping jobs, and lessons to teach you how to become a mystery shopper step-by-step.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) provides helpful tips and advice on becoming a successful mystery shopper and not getting scammed:

  • Becoming a mystery shopper for a legitimate company doesn’t cost anything
  • Search the Internet for mystery shopping companies that are accepting applications
  • Legitimate companies don’t charge an application fee, and many accept applications online
  • Do your homework about mystery shopping. Read mystery shopping books for tips on how to find companies hiring mystery shoppers, as well as how to do the job effectively.

Recommendations for those interesting in the mystery jobs industry:

Mystery Shopping Scams:

  • Be skeptical of mystery shopper “help wanted” emails or newspaper ads, as these are most often scams pitching unnecessary, dubious “mystery shopping services”
  • Legitimate mystery shopping companies generally do not require certification, so beware of anyone selling secret shopper certifications
  • Avoid buying mystery shopping directories of companies providing mystery shoppers, or anyone charging a fee for access to mystery shopping opportunities

Whether you decide to become a mystery shopper part-time or full-time, being a good, effective secret shopper requires effort on your part. I don’t believe in the make money doing nothing philosophy, because the amount of time and effort you put into learning how to be a mystery shopper and using that knowledge to be the best mystery shopper possible, will help make you be the one mystery shopper companies are looking for.

A Marriage Without Regrets – Do You Regret Getting Married?

Do you regret getting married? Have you ever said to yourself “I regret getting married”? Is your marriage a happy marriage or an unhappy marriage? If you could do it all over again, would you still choose to be married to your spouse? Are you planning on getting married? Why? The sheer number of unhappy marriages and staggering divorce rates should give dating and/or engaged couples reason for pause, and serious consideration into building a happy marriage without regrets in order to avoid divorce altogether.

According to a study of 4000 married couples carried out by market research firm OnePoll.com, a quarter of married men and women regret getting married to their spouses, while 15% of engaged couples planning to get married have misgivings about their upcoming nuptials. Is it “cold feet” pre-wedding jitters, or is there something more serious going on? Why do people regret getting married?

The average married couple gives up on romance just two years, six months and 25 days into a marriage, according to the research poll. “We tend to think of marriage as something people do when they are in love but this survey reveals that people tie the knot for all sorts of different reasons,” OnePoll’s John Sewell said. “And many of them aren’t sure they want to get married — even as they are standing at the altar saying their vows, which may worry some brides and grooms-to-be.”

  • Four percent of the married people surveyed said they had gotten married for the wrong reasons, because they wanted wedding presents and a party, not because they were in love.
  • 23 percent said they would not marry their partner if they could do it all over again, and 14 percent wished they had married someone else from their past.
  • Only 28 percent confessed to being virgins when they met their future spouse, with some respondents saying they had slept with an average of four people before they met their marriage partner, and five percent admitted to having 20 or more previous sexual partners.
  • 35 percent said the person they married was not the best sexual partner they have ever had and another 33 percent said that being single was more fun than being married.
  • 12 percent of people surveyed said they stay with their partner just because they couldn’t be bothered to find someone new.
  • Fifteen percent of husbands and wives admitted to lying to each other about their love lives, with most decreasing the number of previous sexual partners while two percent admitted to boosting the number.
  • 83 percent of those surveyed said they couldn’t be bothered to celebrate the date they tied the knot by their third anniversary.
  • Seven out of ten men admitted they were so comfortable with their spouse they frequently left socks, pants and other dirty washing lying around the house, while 79 percent admitted they no longer bothered to put the toilet seat down.
  • 75 percent of men and women said they wouldn’t relinquish control over the remote control to their other half, even if they asked nicely.
  • Two thirds of the married women polled said they no longer put forth the effort to dress up and look nice for their spouse. Nearly a third said they stay on the far side of the bed, claiming they don‘t have time for sex with their husbands.
  • 54 percent of women polled no longer bothered wearing make-up; 61 percent admitted that they throw on a ratty T-shirt, comfy tracksuit bottoms or pajamas as soon as they got home from work, and 10 percent of married women said they don’t bother to wear sexy lingerie to spice things up in the bedroom.
  • 83 percent of couples surveyed held hands often while out during the first few months of marriage, compared to just 38 percent after a decade of being married.
  • Prior to the first wedding anniversary, partners would cuddle and hug more than eight times a day- compared with five or fewer after ten years of marriage. 60 percent said they hadn’t been surprised with a romantic night out since getting hitched.

John Sewell said, “It would appear that many are stuck in a rut, and whilst they still love their other half, they’re a little too comfortable in each others company. Couples need to find a good balance between feeling comfortable and taking each other for granted. The odd romantic meal would probably be all many couples need to spice things up a bit – and small gestures such as tidying up, and helping out with the housework would go a long way.”

Right and Wrong Reasons to Get Married

Marriage regrets often happen because dating and/or engaged couples haven’t considered their reasons for wanting to get married in the first place. Couples don’t think about the pros and cons of marriage, but choose to focus their time, attention and financial resources to the Cinderella wedding fairytale fantasy while planning a wedding that lasts just one day.

There are good reasons to get married and bad reasons to get married, but brides-to-be and grooms-to-be often pay too much attention to planning the fairytale fluff of the wedding day ceremony and reception, rather than planning and preparing for marriage and the difficulties that go with being married after the wedding day is over.

Brides-to-be often plan their wedding at The Knot Wedding Shop where decisions are made about the wedding budget, wedding dress, flowers, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers, wedding cake, grooms cake, wedding rings, wedding invitations, chapel or wedding venue options, the honeymoon, DJ, photographer and video etc. Your wedding day is just one day out of the rest of your life.

Marriage Without Regrets

If you really want a marriage without regrets that lasts a lifetime, you need to prepare for marriage, starting with asking the hard before marriage questions every couple should ask and answer before getting married in order to have a happy, successful marriage without any regrets.

  1. Resolving conflict in marriage
  2. Understanding each partner’s role
  3. Improving the sexual relationship
  4. Becoming financially wise
  5. Respecting and keeping marriage vows

Getting married for the wrong reasons can quickly lead to an unhappy marriage ending in divorce, because couples did not prepare for marriage properly, were too young to get married or didn’t consider the fact that being married and being happily married are two entirely different things.

My Life Would Suck Without You Kelly Clarkson New Song Lyrics

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson’s new song, “My Life Would Suck Without You”, is sure to be a huge hit with Clarkson fans since its recent release on radio stations. Co-written and produced by song hit makers, Dr. Luke and Max Martin, Kelly Clarkson belts out the lyrics to her new song with predictable fervor. Whether you like the American Idol show or not, Clarkson definitely has a great set of vocal pipes!

When Clarkson sings “you got a piece of me”, Kelly fans may recall the feud between her and RCA label head Clive Davis (who publicly criticized Clarkson for attempting to take control of “My December”), only to be welcomed back following Kelly’s apology and the dumping of her manager and band.

The “My Life Would Suck Without You” YouTube video has been viewed nearly 400,000 times as of this writing, and her new song is included on Clarkson’s album entitled “All I Ever Wanted”, to be released March 17, 2009.

Clarkson naysayers feel this new song “sucks”, but I enjoy the fast tempo of Clarkson’s new single as well as her strong vocal ability, and I have a few of her cd’s in my ever increasing music collection.

Enjoy the video preview of Kelly Clarkson’s new single on YouTube, along with the words/lyrics to the song.

My Life Would Suck Without You Lyrics:

Guess this means you’re sorry
You’re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
All you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you’d never come back
But here you are again

Cause we belong together now (yeah)
Forever united here somehow (yeah)
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin’ to pick a fight
I know that I’ve got issues
But you’re pretty messed up too
Anyway, I found out I’m nothing without you

Cause we belong together now (yeah)
Forever united here somehow (yeah)
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn’t miss you, but I can’t let go
Oh yeah

Cause we belong together now (yeah)
Forever united here somehow (yeah)
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

Cause we belong together now (together now – yeah)
Forever united here somehow (yeah)
You got a piece of me and honestly
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you
