Closet Purge to Fashionable Working Wardrobe Upgrade

Closet Purge The thought of spending an entire day cleaning out the closet and getting rid of more stuff in a massive closet purging session seemed overwhelming and somewhat depressing. I had the urge to purge nearly 90% of the clothes, shoes and fashionable accessories in my closet that I had accumulated over the last several (many) years.

Having scheduled a few career-changing interviews in my ongoing effort of leaving dentistry completely and beginning a brand new career path, standing in my closet and looking for interview-worthy business casual wardrobe attire that would work, fit well and look amazing on me, my shoulders began to droop as the realization hit me that I have nothing to wear. Sure, those lined wool black dress slacks hanging in the closet would be great for business interviews, but temperatures outside were well into the 90’s and simply not going to work.

My Willow Tree Grandparents With Grandchildren Figurines Collection

Willow Tree Grandparents As a grandparent with several grandchildren, and surely more to come in years ahead, I was instantly drawn to the Willow Tree figurine collection, Susan Lordi’s line of carved, figurative sculptures.

I was introduced to Willow Tree figurines a few years ago when I received the “Together” Willow Tree figurine from my husband as a Christmas gift. I was hooked on Willow Tree ever since, and have regularly searched for any and all newly added items to the Willow Tree family of products.

I’m especially drawn to the Willow Tree Grandparents figurine collection, and have gradually been building my personal collection of these figurines from the grandparents family groupings and individual children/grandchildren figures, pictured here.

Win a $50.00 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway!

Amazon Gift Card Giveaway Now is your chance to Win a $50.00 Amazon gift card, in celebration of the new Fall season, cooler temperatures, beautiful Autumn colors with the seasonal changing of the leaves on the trees, and the holidays right around the corner.

I love Autumn almost as much as I love Amazon! For a long time now, Amazon has been my primary go-to spot for buying virtually everything we need or want. Being an Amazon Prime Member has been a god-send, so to speak, since nearly everything I buy on Amazon arrives at my doorstep in just two days.

When I order a gift for someone on Amazon, where the gift recipient lives out of state or I won’t be seeing them in person for their special occasion, holiday gathering or birthday, I love knowing that their gift will arrive not only on time but usually a little early.

LunchBots Stainless Steel Food Containers and Bento Boxes

LunchBots Stainless Steel Food Containers Jacqueline Linder, Founder and CEO of LunchBots, the family-owned business providing consumers healthy and safe stainless steel lunch and snack food containers, is an entrepreneur and company I greatly respect. With the growing awareness and concern about the abundance of harmful plastic products used in many homes, more people are making the necessary changes to get rid of their plastic storage containers and are searching for healthier options.

When I first heard about LunchBots awhile back, it was important to me to take the time needed to check out the quality of their product line, the company’s history and mission, rather than just jumping on the bandwagon full steam ahead simply based on a few online reviews.

60th Birthday Gift Ideas vs Birthday Gag Gifts for Men Turning 60

60th Birthday Party Gift Ideas The 60th birthday party that I’m hosting in a couple of months is well along in the planning stages. The custom birthday party invitations have been received, the very unique and uncommon birthday cake has been ordered, the party decorations have been chosen, the birthday menu is completed, so now my thoughts have shifted to what do you get as a birthday gift for a man turning 60 years old?

Every birthday is special of course, but milestone birthdays like the 50th, 60th, 70th and 80th birthdays should be treated as extra special, and a lot of thought put into the selection of a good birthday gift for someone entering a milestone year. I mean, it’s the Big 6.0.! Thoughts of retirement, getting older, enjoying time spent with grandchildren, hobbies, etc are typically on their minds. The 60th birthday is a big deal and should be treated as such.

Since I’m hosting this very special birthday party, coming up with my own ideas of what I will give this guy as a gift has had me scratching my head for unique gift ideas, but I’m also the go-to person for everyone on the invitation list to ask what they could get him as a birthday gift too. More head scratching and raking my brain for things a man about to be sixty years old would want or need that someone could give him as a birthday gift.

The Cards Against Humanity Card Game is Among Amazon’s Most Popular Products

Cards Against Humanity If you haven’t yet heard about the card game called Cards Against Humanity, surely you will soon. As I’ve been going through the various Amazon wish lists in my early Christmas shopping efforts, this very popular card game is listed on at least three people’s lists of things they want for Christmas this year, and sits at the top of Amazon’s best sellers in the toys/games category.

Although I haven’t ever played Cards Against Humanity, I’ve been hearing about how popular it is, and how graphic and disturbingly hilarious it seems to be for those who choose to play it. Marketed as an adult card game for those 18+ years of age and up, and now in its third expansion, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised to find people we know wanting to buy it, or hoping someone will buy it for them as a gift.

Duck Dynasty Christmas Gifts

Duck Dynasty Christmas We’re big fans of the hilarious Duck Dynasty show on A&E, so it only makes sense to find Duck Dynasty merchandise to give as Christmas gifts for family and friends who also love the show. Remember, I’ve said that Christmas gift shopping starts very early at our house, so it’s been quite easy to find the various Robertson family related products that can be given as gifts this Christmas.

Have you heard that the Robertson family is releasing their first Christmas album titled “Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas” in late October of this year? Perfectly timed to give as Christmas gifts for Duck Dynasty fans. Duck The Halls is reportedly going to be a variety-show style music CD featuring Robertson family vocals, humor, and a few well-placed duck calls. I’m Happy Happy Happy!

Housewarming Party Gift Registry or Wishlist, What’s the Problem?

Housewarming Party Gifts I’ve attended quite a few housewarming parties over the years, and not once have I ever NOT given a housewarming gift to the happy and excited hosts celebrating their purchase of a new house or condo, but also “house” warming parties for first-time apartment renters.

After having received an invitation to a housewarming party and gladly accepting the honor, one of the first things I do to help celebrate the brand new home purchase with the host(s), is to ask if they’ve made a list of things they need for their new place. I also ask if they’ve created a party registry or wishlist for their housewarming party, where attendees such as myself might choose something special to buy as a housewarming gift for them.

90 Kitchen Basic Essentials For a New Home

Kitchen Essentials Moving into a first apartment or buying a house for the first time is an exciting time, and along with the excitement of signing that lease or mortgage contract, comes the moment where you’ve got to come up with a basic list of things you’ll need to supply the kitchen for cooking and preparing meals.

Whether it’s a college graduate moving into their first apartment, house or condo, or maybe it’s a young couple who are purchasing their very first house together, having a complete list of what things you’ll need for a fully functioning kitchen is often at the top of the to-do list.

Grandma Needs Baby Stuff For Baby Going to Grandma’s House

Grandma Needs for Baby Having been a long distance Grandma for the last few years, where I travel to visit and spend time with the grand babies and family, there really wasn’t a need for me to have very much baby stuff at our house. All I needed was my digital postal scale for determining shipping costs for baby toys or clothes being shipped to another state. To me, having a digital postal scale is an absolute necessity even if you’re not a grandma or grandpa, but have family and loved ones living in another state.

Once we began having grand babies being born much closer to home, it quickly became obvious that this Grandma was going to need to buy a few things to have on hand for when baby comes to visit grandma and grandpa or spend the night/weekend at grandma and grandpa’s house. Grandma’s that will be babysitting baby when mom goes back to work also need to be well-stocked in baby gear and products for taking care of baby, to greatly reduce the amount of baby stuff having to be carried over to grandma’s house all of the time. What does grandma need for babies and toddlers?
