Who Chooses the Engagement Ring?

Diamond SolitaireAh, sweet bliss surrounds the happy couple in love! The two lovebirds are about to enter the next phase of life and what could ever go wrong? Well, possibly the engagement ring! The man may fear choosing a ring she hates and the woman may fear he’ll choose a ring she hates. Sadly, neither person knows how to broach the subject. Most people who are in love detest the banal conversation of something that should be so poetic.

Of course, tradition has it that the man picks out the ring and totally sends the lady into joyous shock when he presents it to her. With more modern couples, the woman knows the proposal is coming but still doesn’t give any input about the style of the ring. It seems as if any discussion of the ring is taboo! But it is after all, the woman who will wear the ring every day.

Cast Iron Cookware: The Best Purchase You Can Make

The modern culinary scene has erupted into a bouquet of gimmicky, re-invented wheels. Balls whisks, toaster ovens, garlic peelers, salt pigs, bread cookers, Panini presses…. with most the only question is whether they have been reduced to uselessness through generalization, or specialization. In addition to being more novel than they are useful, these items tend to be either cheaply produced or very expensive. Unbelievably, some are even considered toxic to their owners. This landscape is reminiscent of a jungle where it is difficult to tell which resources are nutritious and which are poisonous.

But despite their needle-in-a-hay-stack status, there are still items that represent extreme value, and none more than a cast iron skillet. This item is inexpensive, durable, aesthetically beautiful, and capable of performing a wide variety of tasks extremely well. If there is one highly specific item that belongs in every kitchen, it’s a skillet or Dutch oven composed of heavy, black, cast iron.

Fluoride is a Poison – How Does Fluoride Affect Health

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, fluoride IS a toxic poison. Fluoride added to water supplies is NOT pharmaceutical grade fluoride. Not even close. The negative health affects of consuming fluoride via water fluoridation, fluoride toothpastes, mouthwashes, rinses, fluoride supplements, vitamins etc etc, are well known and proven to be a fact.

Just a few days ago I happened to notice the cover story of a dental magazine by the ADA called “ADA News”, mentioning how a town in Florida had recently voted 3-2 to keep their municipal water supply fluoridated. See it here. What do the two people who voted against continuing adding fluoride to the town’s water supply know about fluoride that the other three do not know or choose to ignore? What about all the people that live in that town? Do the citizens not have a right to choose if they want toxic chemicals forcibly added to their water supply against their consent, and perhaps even without their informed knowledge?

Multiple Intelligences – Understanding Different Types of Learning Styles

Multiple Intelligences. No, I’m not talking about life-forms outside of Earth; I’m talking about the numerous ways that we, humans, learn new things by our different learning styles. I’ve only had 2 days of classes, and my Critical Thinking class feels more like a really fun Psychology class than anything else. I love psychology so, when it’s brought up in class, I get really excited.

We’re in our second week of school (out of 8 weeks) and we just read a chapter in the book that talks about Multiple Intelligences. There are 8 forms of dominant intelligences, 3 learning styles, and 8 personality styles – all which makes up the theory of Multiple Intelligences.
