Best Sewing Machines and Sewing Machines For Beginners Consumer Reports Reviews

What are the best sewing machines for adults, or in my case, sewing machines for beginners? My sewing experience is pretty much reduced to Home Economics class in High School many years ago, not counting typical mending, hemming or button replacement sewing done over the years. Mentioning my Christmas wish for a good quality sewing machine and sewing machine accessories to family and friends brought some humorous joking, with several teasing me that I’m officially a Grandma now because I wanted to buy a sewing machine.

Choosing the right kind of sewing machine for what I want to do as a sewer required educating myself on all the different brands of sewing machines to pick the best one for me, and of course reading consumer reviews and ratings. Consumer Reports Magazine or the CR website is often the first place I look when researching product reviews and recommendations, even though I use a few other online resources and compare the information to make a final, informed decision.

Weston A Price Nutrition and Physical Degeneration – Reflections on Reading Weston Price

I recently read an extraordinary and thought-provoking book, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price, DDS. In the 1930′s Price, a dentist from Cleveland, Ohio, became interested in the deteriorating dental and general health of his patients and of modern Americans. He noticed that each new generation seemed to have more cavities and more dental problems such as crowded teeth and narrow bridge formation, accompanied by an increase in other health problems, such as allergies, fatigue, behavioral problems and asthma.

Suspecting that the cause of this worsening dental and overall health might be nutritional and suspecting the many processed foods in his patient’s diets, Price decided to travel the world to examine firsthand cultures still eating their traditional diets, devoid of modern, processed foods. He eventually studied fourteen different cultures, including a remote island in Scotland, tribes in Africa, Eskimos in Alaska, Polynesian islands, and a village high in the Alps of Switzerland.

Kindle Christmas 2011 – New Kindle Fire Comes Out in Time for Christmas

With the new Kindle Fire coming out in time for Christmas this year, with a release date of November 21st, some are calling this year the “Kindle Christmas” and pre-ordering their new Kindle Fire now. As an avid book reader, none of the versions of the electronic Kindle thus far have caused me to want to move away from owning and holding the actual book itself, until now.

The new Kindle Fire has caught my attention due to the extremely low price of just $199.00, with free shipping for Amazon Prime Members, much cheaper than the extremely popular iPad. We don’t own an iPad and at this point have no interest in spending that kind of money on an electronic gadget when our laptops and computers work just fine. Having read numerous reviews about the Kindle, positive and negative, waiting for the latest and greatest version of the Kindle and seeing what options and apps are available seemed to be the wise choice.

How to Cure Tooth Decay – Author Ramiel Nagel Guest Post

Tooth decay is curable. You can reverse, heal and actually cure tooth decay, and prevent having to pay the astronomical costs of expensive dental treatments like root canals, crowns, implants etc. As a dental professional, telling the truth about the causes of tooth decay and how to cure tooth decay is extremely important to me, versus the commonly known drivel that has been told for many years by the dental health “authorities” and their subjects.

For that reason, I tracked down the author of the book Cure Tooth Decay, Mr. Ramiel Nagel and asked him if he’d be inclined to submit a guest post to me about his book. Fortunately he agreed, and below are his written words. He explains not only why he wrote his book about curing tooth decay, but also explains the truth about what causes tooth decay in the first place, and what steps are necessary nutritionally to cure and prevent tooth decay and other oral diseases.

Fallen and Torment Books by Lauren Kate – Book Review

The Fallen book series is a very interesting series. It still fits my genre of fiction, but it puts a slightly different twist to it. Fallen keeps the same general “forbidden love” between human and fallen angel, and now it’s not solely based on that. The main character’s soul is in jeopardy!

Fallen, in a sense, is more of a prelude to the next book ‘Torment’. Luce (the main character) ends up at Sword and Cross, which is more of a Psych Ward, then a school. All the students there are crazy, one way or another and all of Luce’s friends (except 1 – Penn) are all fallen angels.
