While I’m in the early stages of planning a baby shower, the happy and excited mother and father-to-be are browsing baby nursery pictures and baby bedding for girls online in order to decide what the nursery theme will be for their baby girl.

I don’t envy them the job of choosing one baby bedding set over all the other cute choices for baby girl nurseries, but it sure is fun to see them try to reduce their list of favorites down to a top ten list before finalizing their nursery décor and baby crib set preferences to just one.

Once I know the specific nursery theme and baby bedding set they want for their darling little girl, my job as host for the baby shower will be much easier since I can match the baby shower theme, decorations, formal invitations, shower cakes etc with the baby girl nursery theme selected.

Since I’ll be hosting a baby shower in coming months, I’ve been gathering ideas for unique baby gifts besides the typical needed baby items found on most baby shower registries. I’ve made homemade bridal shower and baby shower invitations before that turned out great, and based on what I’ve learned so far, making homemade baby shower favors, baby shower decorations and baby gifts by hand is just a matter of following instructions and using your own creativity.

1. The first record I ever owned was Mony Mony by Tommy James & The Shondells. I’m aging myself here, since the record was a Vinyl, 7″, 45 RPM, Single of the hit song. For the “last day of school party” in the 7th grade, my image of being a “cool kid” took a serious hit when students were told to bring in their favorite record to play during the party, and Mony Mony was the only record I owned at that time.

If you haven’t been to Babies R Us to complete a Babies R Us registry for baby products or baby shower gifts, I highly recommend you do. My daughter and I recently spent time browsing the Babies R Us store and we were both blown away by the large selection of all of the things a baby needs from the moment the baby is born.

Since my daughter is due to deliver her baby girl in May, I’ve been searching the internet for coupons and promotional codes specifically for Babies R Us, Toys R Us and Baby To Be, since that’s where my daughter is registered for her upcoming baby shower.

Becoming a grandmother is very exciting, and I can’t help but feel like spoiling my soon-to-be granddaughter as much as possible. With all these very cool baby coupons that are available online, not only do I get to enjoy the fun of buying a baby bouncer for my daughter’s baby, but Babies R Us, Toys R Us and Baby To Bee stores are filled with baby clothes for girls and boys, baby nursery furniture, baby toys and books, and everything you or I would want for the baby in our lives.

I also encouraged my daughter to check out the largest social networking site for moms and moms-to-be at CafeMom, where she can discuss baby care and being a new mom with other mothers just like her. The encouragement and support that comes from other moms with similar circumstances and issues really helps new moms know they’re not alone, and help reduce a new mom’s stress and worry if they’re taking care of the baby properly.
