The Bachelor Contract, Reality Steve’s Blog and Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky

A lot has been said about how contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette “reality tv” shows on ABC have to sign a contract, but very few people have been able to actually read the “shocking” contract themselves. Now you can. Reality Steve has talked at great length about the crazy contract, and how the heavy editing causes some contestants to be given “bad edits”, where they are made out to be and are treated like villains on and off the show.

Rozlyn Papa got a very bad edit during her stint on The Bachelor with Jake Pavelka “On The Wings of Love”, where claims were made that she and a producer had a shocking sexual affair or “inappropriate relationship”. Didn’t happen. What may be good for boosting ratings and viewership for the show hasn’t been good for Rozlyn’s reputation.

Reality Steve Bachelor Spoilers vs ABC The Bachelor Mike Fleiss

Our favorite snarky and sarcastic reality tv blog-master Reality Steve has Bachelor producers in a dither because of Steve’s bachelor spoilers. Reality Steve, aka Steve Carbone, just might need to watch out for the Israeli secret service to come knocking on his door, according to an interview executive producer Mike Fleiss had with EW. Really ABC? I just bet that Reality Steve is shaking in his Texas boots right about now. Not likely.

While Bachelor producers are going about their business of preparing for the upcoming wedding of Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, to be aired on March 8, producers of The Bachelor aren’t too happy with Steve Carbone and the oh-so-fabulous spoilers on Reality Steve’s blog.

Reality Steve’s blog updates comes complete with some of the best, if not THE best, Bachelor episode recaps and spoilers on the web. Sarcasm, wit and snarkiness flows freely on Steve’s blog and his fans love it! ABC knows it too and Hollywood Insider interviewed Bachelor producer Mike Fleiss about the impact Reality Steve and his blog is having on the hit reality show.

Part of ABC’s problem with Reality Steve is that he accurately revealed the shocking details of how Jason Mesnick would propose to Melissa Rycroft and then dump her for Molly on national television before the After the Final Rose special aired. The fact that Steve has revealed on his blog a number of great spoilers, who the Final 4 would be and who would “win” Jake Pavelka’s heart at the final rose ceremony, should give viewers and fans reason to believe Reality Steve is right. Again.

Reality Steve Bachelor Spoilers, Season 14 Final Four and Winner Revealed

Fans of The Bachelor reality television show on ABC are likely familiar with Reality Steve and his blog. Reality Steve, AKA Steve Carbone of Dallas, has revealed the final 4 Bachelor contestants and who Jake Pavelka picks as winner at the final rose ceremony, due to having a very reliable inside source.

There are many Bachelorette and Bachelor blogs, forums and message boards for fans to read recaps, spoilers and speculations about what happens before the show even airs on ABC, but if you really want to know the reality of what has been going on behind the scenes on The Bachelor, you have to read Reality Steve’s blog at realitysteve.com.

I’ve been a fan of a few “reality television” shows over the years, but the recent so-called sex scandal involving Bachelor contestant Rozlyn Papa and former producer Ryan Callahan has created a negative but well-deserved buzz about the show’s integrity and host, Chris Harrison. Rozlyn has said in interviews on National Television that there was no “inappropriate relationship” between her and Callahan whatsoever, no kissing, no sex, nothing “physical” as Chris Harrison has claimed.

Chris Harrison Confirms The Bachelor Shocking Sex Scandal

Not sure if this qualifies as a “Bachelor spoiler” or not, but Bachelor host Chris Harrison has confirmed the ongoing rumor of a sex scandal involving one of the Bachelor contestants and a producer of the show, and Jake Pavelka had nothing to do with it. Ruh Roh! Drumroll please….

As much as some of you Bachelor fans would love to see scandal and sexy mayhem on Season 14 of The Bachelor, such as a sordid lesbian girl/girl kind of scandal, Harrison has confirmed the scandal involved a male producer and one of the contestants.

In the promo leading up to tonight’s premiere of The Bachelor “On The Wings of Love” with sexy hunk Jake Pavelka the pilot, we’re teased with “She’s been having this sexual affair with somebody else in the Bachelor house.”

In a radio interview with Sean Valentine, Chris Harrison called the affair “a barn storm. It was a fire.” Any reality television loving bachelor fan knows it’s a big no-no for contestants and show producers or big-wigs to be um…playing house onscreen or offscreen.

The Bachelor Contestants – Bachelor Season 14 Jake Pavelka On The Wings of Love

The season premiere of The Bachelor “On the Wings of Love” starts on Monday, January 4 (8 p.m. EST on ABC), with Jake Pavelka the pilot as the new bachelor. Fans of sappy romantic television shows like The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are excited to find out if Jake finds true love and who Jake will choose to be Mrs. Pavelka at the final rose ceremony of The Bachelor season 14, of if online dating sites will be his next stop.

News reports quoting 31-year-old Jake Pavelka, the hunky commercial airline pilot from Dallas, say that Season 14 of The Bachelor promises to be “a very rocky and dramatic season”. If recent spoilers of the very popular dating series are true, claiming a “shocking scandal” involving a contestant having a sexual affair with an ABC production crew member of The Bachelor show, host Chris Harrison and ABC big-wigs have yet to confirm or deny the scandalous rumors.

Creating drama and media hype about the premiere of The Bachelor to help stir up excitement and ratings with a sex scandal, ABC began running a brief, on-air promo spot about the cheating female contestant. On the promo, a female contestant is heard on the audio clip saying, “She’s been having an sexual affair with somebody else in the Bachelor House”. To say “it wouldn’t be The Bachelor if it didn’t start with one shocking scandal” is an understatement, and it certainly helps keep up the show’s ratings.

Jason Mesnick is the New Bachelor on ABC’s The Bachelor

Jason Mesnick is the New Bachelor on ABC’s The BachelorABC has finally announced that Jason Mesnick, 32, will star as the next bachelor on the 13th season of The Bachelor, beginning in January 2009. Filming begins next month and hopefully Mesnick will have better luck this time with a brand new crop of contestants after DeAnna Pappas rejected him on last season’s The Bachelorette. Thankfully, ABC listened to the letters and hordes of emails from Jason’s fans who are now getting their wish granted. Jason will get a second chance at finding love on reality television, and hopefully the second time around will be all that is needed.

Here’s what we know about Jason:

  1. Jason is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, moved to Washington at the age of eight and received his BA in psychology at the University of Washington.
  2. He is a single father from Seattle with a 3 yr-old son named Ty.
  3. He divorced two years ago but wants to start another family.
  4. He’s the middle son in a family of three boys and lives with his younger brother, Larry, and with Ty in Washington.
  5. His parents are divorced and both are happily remarried.
  6. Jason is an account executive in estate and legacy planning,
  7. He has traveled all over Europe and continues to pursue his desire to see the world.
  8. He loves a variety of sports, including swimming, golf, basketball and football.
  9. In his spare time, he takes guitar and swing dance lessons.
  10. Jason is a “big brother” for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America. A philanthropist himself, he hopes to some day form and run his own children’s charity.

Jason told reporters in a recent interview that he hasn’t been on a date since Deanna. Is he ready to love again? Not on the rebound? He told People magazine he is looking forward to the opportunity to find love on the 13th season of The Bachelor.

“I am ready,” he says. “I am through it and open to giving these girls everything I can to find the one that is right for me. “All I am missing, really, is someone to share [my life] with,” he adds. “There’s no guarantee but 25 girls? I mean it’s a real opportunity to find just one.”

Mesnick posted a shout out to his friends on his MySpace page:

“An update for all of my new friends. Thank you so much for the continued support — I have some great news! I am not sure if you have heard, I have been selected to be the next Bachelor. I am so excited that words really can not explain. (WAAAHOOOO!) This whole experience has been surreal and it just keeps on going. With that said, at this point I am going to have to step away from my MySpace page. The casting producers will be watching over my page for now. They are an amazing group of people with my best interest in mind; so to all my new friends out there I am sorry I will not be able to reply for now, but if you are interested; the right people have their eye on my page. I am leaving my romance in the hands of the show — I hope to meet you on the upcoming season.”

I can hardly wait to see what happens on The Bachelor, and hopefully Jason and son Ty will have better luck than previous contestants who were engaged but never made it to the altar. Hopefully Jason will find his lady-love once and for all on the new season of The Bachelor. I’ll be watching. Will you?

Who Will Be The Next Bachelor?

Call me a sappy romantic if you like, but I admit to watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette each season, and I’ve been very anxious to see who will be the next bachelor. I was so disappointed at the end of The Bachelorette when DeAnna Pappas sent Jeremy Anderson home brokenhearted, and ultimately chose Jesse Csincsak (a pro snowboarder) over Jason Mesnick. Personally, I think DeAnna lost her mind somewhere along the way, and she definitely seemed to flip-flop throughout the show in terms of what she was looking for in a relationship. Who do you think should be the next Bachelor?

J.T. TorregianiRumors are flying around the internet that one possibility might be Paula Abdul’s ex-boyfriend. 33-year-old J.T. Torregiani, who owns New York City nightclub Butter, and is a partner in a restaurant investors group called the Dolci Group is rumored to be in consideration for The Bachelor. J.T. who? That was my question when I first read that Torregiani was asked to be on The Bachelor after he and Abdul recently broke up.

Apparently, J.T. is now considering being on the show because “he wants to settle down, have kids, have a family”. Um, JT? Most of the previous contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette that fell in love and got engaged broke up faster than a speeding bullet, so I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high, but I still wish you luck in finding your soul-mate.

I’m still somewhat undecided as to whether I want Jason Mesnick or Jeremy Anderson as the new Bachelor, but as far as ratings for who should be the next Bachelor, I’m more inclined to think that having Jason back on the show would bring better ratings than quiet-shy Jeremy. Of course, Jeremy was dealing with the emotional pain of losing his mother, so I didn’t hold it against Jeremy that he appeared to be so shy and quiet.

Jeremy AndersonJeremy Anderson, the 30-year-old real estate attorney from Dallas Texas, a favorite amongst many of the ladies who watched the show may be the next Bachelor, according to Access Hollywood. Jeremy has admitted he is dating someone, saying in a conference call with AH, “I have started seeing someone. It was tough in the beginning and it was tough to get back out there because you can’t really date while the show is going on. Once the show was over I could kind of explore…the dating world in real life is so much different. It’s a different universe to dating on television”. We’ll just have to wait and see whether Jeremy makes it back onto The Bachelor, but his chances of finding true love is probably better if he dates privately and off-camera. (Interview with Jeremy Anderson)

I’m thinking that Jason Mesnick is probably the one man most viewers would like to see as the next Bachelor, and I really hope if he is the man chosen, that he will accept the invitation to return to the show. I liked how genuine and sincere he was on the show, and when DeAnna broke his heart and chose Jesse, I felt so bad for Jason.

Jason MesnickMesnick gives his thoughts on dating DeAnna in a Q&A and says the marriage proposal scene where he was down on one knee was not shown in its entirety, but that Jason was down a lot longer than viewers were aware of. I also have a lot of respect for how Jason behaved as a single father, and how he wisely kept his relationship with DeAnna private and away from his young son, except for the one time they met during the show. Jason really appears to be a class act and down-to-earth kind of guy, and I hope he finds the love of his life even if it’s not shown on national television.

Tell me, who do you want to be the next bachelor? UPDATE: Jason Mesnick is the New Bachelor!
